Many forward thinking folks today are concerned about green house gas emissions and global warming.
Coast Blackcomb Suites' carbon offset program makes it easy for their guests who wish to do so, to reduce their own personal carbon footprint.
A 3rd party company, using Internationally recognized standards and guidelines, has assessed the carbon footprint from staying one night at a Coast hotel as about the same as driving a medium size car for 150 kilometre.
Guests may either redeem 25 of their Coast Reward points, or pay an extra $1.00 per night, in order to achieve carbon neutral status for the duration of their stay.
Coast passes along the extra charge to the Pacific Carbon Trust, a Crown corporation established by the Government of British Columbia, which uses the money to subsidize green house gas offset projects, such as the increased use of biofuels, and the installation of efficiency curtains in commercial greenhouses.
Just tell Coast that you want the offset charge added to your bill when you book your room, and you can rest easy knowing your stay will have no environmental impact.
Coast Blackcomb Suites has also received a rating of 4 Green Keys from the Green Key Eco Rating Program.
