Why Visit Whistler During the 2010 Games?
Visiting Whistler Blackcomb during the Olympic year will not only be an exciting and memorable experience, but also a great time to ski or ride as well.
Prior Winter Olympic ski resorts have experienced an "aversion factor" in the year of the Games as many guests stayed away fearing crowds or increased prices. People assume the mountains will be closed or too crowded, construction is still under underway or great deals aren't available. However, this just isn't true!
Fewer Guests, Tons of Terrain
With fewer guests expected on the mountains, skiers and riders next year will have a minimum of 7,500 acres to explore all season long. Whistler Blackbomb offers more terrain groomed each night than any other resort in North America. The resort's annual snowfall average of 33 feet and so far this year Whistler has been blessed with incredible ski and snowboard conditions.
An Amazing Start to the Ski Season
So far, the start to this ski and snowboard season can be summed up in one word. EPIC!
November set records as the best start to a season in Whistler.
And the snow keeps falling. Mid-December is seeing unbelievable
amounts of snow providing some of the best skiing we've ever season
in the resort. Stay up-to-date with our Whistler weather report.
